(ULTRA) VIOLET
(ULTRA) VIOLET
Experiment with the colour Violet.
A wet cyanotype is where you paint the chemical straight on, lay the fresh flowers down, sprinkle some salt, spray some vinegar and lay some bubbles and cling wrap over the image. Place a piece of glass goes over the top, take it outside and expose to the sun.
This piece was pushed further. I decided to hand stitch zigzagging lines representing the research process of “zigzagging.” A term coined and used by Contemporary Philosopher, Rosi Bardotti.
As I have been using red thread to represent traumata running through linages, I thought with this work to switch to a neon red/pink colour. This stitched pattern reminds me of a life time. The ups and downs, the chapters, the movement of the human as they traverse through life.
